Our Trip started on Wednesday the 3th of June. The alarm was set on 4.30 a.m. And we left with the taxi on 5.50 to the trainstation. The trainride went wel and also on Schiphol we passend all the checks and got our flight to Salt Lake City.
We arrived in Salt Lake City at 1.15 P.m and it did'nt cost too much time to get throughout customs and get the car. They gave us an SUV instead of a Minivan.

We drove from the Airport to Park City, a Town with a Mainstreet with all Old houses. A nice view. After that we went to Heber City and stayed there for the night.

The next day we went up early to drive to Green River, 40 Miles from Moab. We took a scenic byway around mount Timpanogos, the Alpine look. It took us high throughout the Mountains with nice overlooks.
We arrived around 1 p.m. In Green River. our room was already available and we went that afternoon to Goblin National Park.

On Friday we visited Arches, a beautiful Park with all the rock formations and Arches.

On Saturday we visited Canyonlands, also very beautiful with a lot of very exiting views.

On Sunday we went to Church in Green River, at the Green River Bible Church. We had a good service and spoke with the pastor and with other guests from Australia and Georgia. After the service we went to Dead Horse Point State Park. Later on we went on a non Paved Road and saw four young foxes in front of their hole. The Road became so bad, that we had to turn back.
We went to Arches for another time because we wanted to see Delicate Arch. We only saw it from a far distance. We made the walk and saw the Delicate Arch in a beautiful way.  It was already 9.30 P.m. getting back in our hotel.

The next day we had to leave Green River and got on our way to Cedar City, were we should stay in the house of Bert and Coby Ton, the grandparents of Sarena de Jong.
On our way, we first went to Capitol Reef, a beautiful environment. We made a walk to the Natural Bridge. After that we went on the scenic Tour through the park. At the end of the road we remembered that we still had to drive another 200 Miles and it was already 3 p.m.
So we went back and decided still to chose for the 12 along Bryce Canyon, because it is a very scenic Tour. We took almost all the lookouts. Our navigation system suggested for a long time to turn back and take another route but we stayed on ouw way and shut off the navigation. Later on we turned it on and it said that we should be at Cedar City around 9.15. We made it at 8.30 but we didn't come from the Cedar City Side, but from Bryce Side through the Mountains. Close to the house, the navigation suggested to take a very bad Road. An alternatieve was a 10 Miles detour that would cost an hour drive.

We went back on the Road and saw the right way to the cabine, but now we came on the wrong end of High Oak drive, again a very bad Road. We asked Some people in a car and they just told us to follow and so we got at the house, before Sunset.

We enjoyed the Sunset and we loved the house on the beautiful spot.

The next day, we had a relaxed day, only went for Some shopping and enjoyed the silence and took some rest. At night we heard on the news that Some thunderstorms should come the next day, but we planned to go to Bryce Canyon.

So we did, we first were only able to see the Sunrise part, the highest parts were fully in the clouds. So we went down to the lower parts. Later on we went for another attempt to the higher part. They were cleared in the meantime. The views in the park are exiting. The colors were so beautiful and also the clouds made the scenery so beautiful. When we got almost back at the house, the big raining started and also during the night we had some heavy rainfall.

On Thursday we had to leave Cedar River and went on to Las Vegas. We took first the Freeway (15) and later on turned left to Lake Meadows and went along Fire Valley State Park with the beautiful redrocks. It's amazing to see how low the waterlevel in the Lake is.
We went to the Hoover Dam and walked accross the dam. It's still very impressive. Via Boulder we went to Las Vegas and stayed in the Travelodge hotel, may be the only 3-floors hotel, straight at the Strip.

We walked the Strip. Gerard was the only one, never been at Las Vegas. We went to bed at 11 and the boys came later around 12.30. For us, that was enough Las Vegas.

The next day we went to Death Valley. To the places that we missed the last time we went. It was very hot there, the highest temperature was 112 Fahrenheit.
Later on the day there came Some clouds and we saw some rains falling down and even felt Some rain drops.
We travelled to the North part of Death Vally, through beautiful scenery and went after that to Ridgecrest, to spend the night there.

From Ridgecrest, the next day, we took the way through the Siërra Mountains. We went via Lake Isbella. The waterlevel in the lake is very low. You can see the trees again that disappeared when the lake was filled. We followed the very winding Road through the Mountains and got on the 99 at Delano. From there we went to Hanford and arrived around 1.30 P.m at the de Hoop's. We spend the rest of the day with them and had a good time. Catharine got her adopted Penguin. We promised her a Penguin last year if she graduated and we had to fulfill that promise.

On Sunday we went to church in Hanford and met the family de Jong there. The family de Hoop went to church an hour earlier, because they should go on a family camp.
We spend the Sunday with the family de Jong, the boys did some car racing and we were at the pool.

On Monday, we went to Turlock, to an Alpaca farm. I had already contact with the owner since two months. I promised Sarena an Alpaca for her graduation. At that time I had no idea about alpaca's in the States. I looked it up and found a farm with an Alpaca for a reasonable price so, I took an Option to buy an Alpaca. The owner was very willing but told that alpaca's are herd animals, so that there should always be two alpaca's at least, so I took an option on two of them.
We drove with the families sub-urb and an animal trailer and went on to Turlock, found the farm and we were recieved very friendly. The lady showed us the farm and the 75 alpaca's and finally we went home with Sugarfood and Pirate, two male Alpaca's. They were very easy to transport, they went laying down as soon as we got driving.
So also this promise became fulfilled.
It was very nice meeting the families again.

The next day we travelled from Hanford to Cayucos for a stay along the coast in a nice beach house.
